We -- SJPC staff, volunteers, and community partners -- have been BUSY for the past year and a half tracking, engaging in, and reporting on the many social justice issues and local government decisions occurring within Sacramento County. THANK YOU for supporting our work and helping us achieve our mission and vision of wealth, opportunities, and privileges being accessible to all Sacramentans. Your continued support is needed at this time!
As you know, one tool we’re using to build a socially just Sacramento is through our annual Social Justice Report Card Survey, which SJPC launched this year, and which builds off of, our core values of access, collective decision-making, accountability & transparency, and equity. We’re aiming to collect responses from as many people who live or work in Sacramento County -- targeting those most impacted by injustice, disinvestment and inequality -- as possible! In the last two months, our 4 SJPC Community Canvassers have been doing awesome work doing door-to-door outreach as well as phone-banking in key neighborhoods, as identified by the Black Child Legacy Campaign. They have already boosted survey participation rates by 160 percent, but we’re not done yet!! After our final weeks of canvassing and survey outreach, SJPC canvassers will be out in the community again to distribute the final 2021 Report Card Grades!! Just like our Report Card Survey, we’ll be translating and distributing the final Report Card Grades in Spanish, Tagalog, Hmong, Vietnamese, Russian, Farsi, as well as Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
Here’s what we need! Help SJPC raise our goal of $6,850 on #GivingTuesday to ensure SJPC can acquire the following:
5 x Ipad/Tablets* at $600 per unit (including an internet service plan) - $3,000 total
5 x Ipad/Tablet holster and pen accessories* $150 per unit - $750 total
PDI/miniVAN software** estimated at $50/month per device, for 6 months - $1,500
Final Report Card translation services at approximately $1,600
Total #GivingTuesday Fundraising Goal: $6,850
* = to be used for 2021 and future year survey canvassing
** = Canvassing software allows canvassers to document interactions with the public directly from their phone/tablet, ensuring accurate and always up-to-date data collection, as well as making canvasser navigation a breeze, thanks to integrated GPS.
